All students applying for the 18-MONTH DIPLOMA PROGRAMS must meet the following requirements: - One of the Academic Experience options described below.
- All Prerequisite Courses listed below.
- All students applying for DISTANCE PROGRAM are required to identify a facility that delivers diagnostic medical sonography services in their specialty area and is willing to engage in a mentorship contract with IMU.
- Sonographers desiring to CROSS TRAIN may select from any of the courses offered in the specialty area of interest and are not required to meet the academic requirements below.

(Note: IMU offers an online general physics course that can be completed prior to or concurrent with the first term of the program.)
