Believe it or not I was accepted to Chiropractic School and as the time approached for me to go I had a change of heart. I began to realize how much debt I would be in after school and the Chiropractic business really wasn't booming. At that moment a family member of mine discovered she had blood clots in her arm and jugular vein. It was discovered through vascular ultrasound. So that turning point in my life began to strike my interest to research Ultrasound. The first school I came across gave me the run around and was trying to get me to pursue a Medical Assistant program in order to get in the Ultrasound program. This wasn't right at all because I felt I already had enough education to get into the program based on my college educational background. They were only worried about making money, so I continued on with my search on the internet for Ultrasound schools in the Atlanta area. Then one day I came across the Institute of Medical Ultrasound website and looked at the requirements, everything the program offered, the length of the program, and the flexibility of the program. I then filled out the application and requested that my transcripts be sent to the school. I talked with a staff member who worked with me with payment scheduling since I was coming out of pocket for all the tuition. I feel I have made a great decision attending IMU as it has helped me achieve my goals to be a part of the medical field with a bright future.
